And most of all I love Georgia. A small country on the Black Sea. Legend has it that ‘when God created the world, the territory of Georgia was to be his own, as the most beautiful one. However, he gave them to the Georgians….’

Georgia Legend 🇬🇪
Let’s start from the beginning. Legend has it that after God created the world he decided to divide it among the nations. The nations lined up, arguing over the most valuable land. At this time, the Georgians took a seat on the sidelines, put out wine and food, and began to joyfully feast and toast. All the lands were given away, and the Georgians missed their turn. Only the most beautiful part remained, which God wanted to leave for Himself.
However, seeing the Georgians’ ability to enjoy life and feast carefree, he decided to give them his piece of land. For this reason, according to Georgians, their country is the most beautiful in the world. And the tradition of feasting together is cherished to this day.
This legend has a deeper cultural meaning, showing how Georgians believe that their country is blessed and has received a special gift from God, despite difficulties or adversity.
GEORGIA (საქართველო = sakartvelo) is a transcontinental country located in Eastern Europe and West Asia. It is part of the Caucasus region, bounded by the Black Sea to the west, Russia to the north and northeast, Turkey to the southwest, Armenia to the south, and by Azerbaijan to the southeast. Tbilisi is its capital and largest city.
Why Georgia?
As of 2019, I call Georgia home. Georgia is a country that has stolen my heart. Over these few years I have visited Georgia a minimum of 10 times, after the 10th I stopped counting. I even lived there for a few months to see how it would be for me there for the long term. Nothing has changed. I still miss Georgia and visit several times a year.
This wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the wonderful people I met there and who quite by chance became my best friends.
